This is a new type of show for the channel. Our guest historian will examine a popular claim made about the Second World War and either confirm or debunk it. There probably won't be time for questions from viewers but we hope the shorter length will be popular. Was Rommel brilliant or mediocre? Making a case that he wasn't a great commander and tactician is Dr Philip Blood. Dr Philip Blood is an independent historian of social, cultural and digital histories. His research has included the study of Luftwaffe war crimes and participation in the Holocaust and his PhD research was in Bandenbekämpfung - Nazi security warfare.
