Now I have an explanation. Today, it’s still the same? You get these placements because of family connections?

My credit card was lost in the mail, so I had to enter the new one individually for every subscription! Saw that I could up it a bit more, so I did. I started watching the Irish Guard to watch the Irish Wolfhound they used at the front of parades. I did think to myself, self, this soldiers seem very monochromatically and physically similar.

The color palette is a bit better nowadays but you really need to be tall and well built for the parade army. The problem is that as the recruitment pool shrinks; the less numerous soldiers who would make excellent paratroopers and marines, end up guarding the late Queens corgis leaving the more Benetton and less physically fit running around with a machine gun.

I told Ben Skipper this weekend that I’m surprised he didn’t end up in the Guards or paras, he’s a big bear of a man who was a RAF MP. He told me he failed the IQ test

Too intelligent.

Sorry sorry paras , just joking.
